i feel, a woman is a good puncher, and i guess women can put men in their place, you punish men for questioning what women are good at, and this is a lady punishing a dude for something they said that drove the other person mad.
that to me makes me proud of women in general, their strength, and their authority in all their tasks.
you names this picture well, and it is very true, poor Bart, good on you, Lisa!
That's really harmless in comparison. There is an episode where the Simpsons are on vacation in Israel and Lisa learns some Krav Maga there. On the flight home they get into a fight, so Lisa knees him where it REALLY hurts. He will recover from this punch much faster.
Every time I see this I keep trying to remember what it was he said to her that made her mad in the first place. I'm fairly sure it was when she was trying to communicate with Colin through the dome in the movie. I just can't recall what he said.
As for what everybody thinks (co's after all the hivemind can't be wrong, right?) it's just the standard societal hypocrisy. If a man/boy hits a woman/girl he's the worlds biggest villain. If the reverse happens then he "had it coming" and anyway all men are bastards so they deserve it. It's the same when admitting to being abused, females automatically get sympathy, males get called a pussy and told to man up/act like a man. It's fairly routine.
Personally I'd be satisfied if people stopped pretending men/boys automatically enjoy violence and remembered that males bleed/feel pain too. But of course that won't happen because it requires a principle to be applied across different social groups universally and all anyone seems to do nowadays is makes up special rules for every conceivable "group" in society.
Well its surprising, that and the comic timing made it funny I think. I mean I laughed, but I wasn't laughing "hahaha he got hit by a girl" or just "hahaha he got owned" I was laughing because of the unexpected reaction. I don't think anyone really expected it in advance from that particular character.
I understand why Lisa would have that impulse towards Bart I just didn't expect her to actually act on it.
